It all started when the moving truck pulled up outside our house. Of course, it actually started way before that when our family decided to move to a community in South Carolina. We’d been researching places for over a year and had found one we liked that was close to nature but not far from a main city. We also liked the fact it featured a lake and a golf course.

The first part of our journey involved building a house. I had no idea what was involved in that. We had to make choices about cabinets, fixtures, moldings, and many other things. My daughter and I spent a day at a Design Center making our selections. It wasn’t easy, and we hoped it would all turn out as we envisioned it.
Moving out of state isn’t for the weak-hearted. It involves planning, praying, and perseverance. It also isn’t cheap. While we chose South Carolina for a break in taxes, the move itself, besides the cost of the movers, also involved some hidden expenses such as new furniture because we didn’t want to bring all our old stuff with us and household supplies (since we were moving to a larger place with more bedrooms and bathrooms, we had to buy more toilet paper, towels, bedding, etc.) It all adds up. But when we stepped into our new house for the first time on March 16, it was all worth it.
It was also great that our cats adjusted pretty quickly to their new home. Read more about that in this post that they wrote: https://wp.me/p7XcB0-1n8

May you enjoy your new home in health and happiness for many, many years!
